But as the plot progresses and Hiro matures, his hair becomes a testament to his growth, mirroring his transformation from a reckless boy to a responsible hero. It encapsulates his journey, making his black hair an essential part of his character. Hiro Hamada, from the 2014 film “Big Hero 6”, is a young prodigy with an unruly mop of black hair that matches his restless and inventive spirit. His hair is a striking aspect of his character design, distinguishing him instantly and adding to his boyish charm.

Mikasa is the second most important character in the series(Only Manga readers will understand). Mikasa is one of the top-rated female characters who know many skills to chop the heads of giant titans. Her life is filled with many choices, and each choice comes with its own consequences. One of the top badass and overpowered black haired male characters is for sure Shiba Tatsuya. Naofumi is a young male character with black hair and bright green eyes, was initially trusting and hopeful, full with delight over his hero status. Mamoru Chiba, a beloved and iconic character from the classic anime series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, who stands out with his striking black hair.

As revolutionary as Soul is for the world of Pixar, it’s far from the first animated film with a Black lead. There are many entertaining animated TV shows and movies with black main characters. Himeko Inaba has shoulder-length black hair and like many of the anime characters, has a thick strand of hair that falls between her eyes and brows. These characteristics are ideally suited to all characters with black hair because most guys with black hair are fearless warriors and possess a unique backstory. As the pioneer shounen protagonist, and the major influence behind even some of the characters on this list, Son Goku is arguably the most iconic anime creation of all time.

With his muscular physique, piercing blue eyes, and neatly styled short dark hair, Haruka leaves a lasting impression. He takes the lead in both the anime series and the light novel High Speed! Every anime fan has their favorite anime character, not just because they are strong or skilled but because of their personality and how they are portrayed in their given roles. However, many non-Uchiha characters like Neji Hyuga also have canonically dark black hair. The Uchiha men including Sasuke’s older brother Itachi are known for their badassery and their black hair. Sure, Itachi killed all of his clan members and left Sasuke in a lurch but his remarkable life and the things he has been through have made him one of the most beloved Naruto characters.

Itachi Uchiha (Naruto)

He’s the backbone for the long-running Dragon Ball series which has spawned countless sequels, spin-offs, video games, theme park rides, and tons of selling merchandise. The protector of the planet Earth, and sometimes even other planets, Goku is the ideal hero — he’s very powerful, charming, funny, kind, and a great warrior. Whether or not he’s a great father, husband, and friend is often up for debate, but Goku’s motives are never questioned by the fans. He’s considered the epitome of good, and his influence stretches back decades.

Picking your favorite black-haired comic book character can pretty quickly become a game of picking your favorite hero (or villain) overall. When it comes to powers and abilities, Jotaro has a Star Platinum Stand that enables him to have incredible speed, strength and precision. Later on in the series, he also gains the ability to stop time for a few seconds. He stoic personality and heroic actions make him an unforgettable character. Levi Ackerman may not be the protagonist in Attack of Titan but no one can deny that this black-haired man is the most well-known character from the series.

He is a cold and distant pre-teen at the beginning of the series but later starts to care about Sakura and Naruto. His friendship with them notwithstanding, Sasuke eventually abandons his friends and home to find Orochimaru and become stronger. Despite being the most powerful character in the show, Mob's story isn't about overcoming enemies. Instead, it's about trying to figure out who he is and what he wants to do with his life.

Under certain circumstances, he left Toman and joined another gang. Thankfully, anime throughout its history has had many memorable, well-designed black characters — so let’s check out some of the memorable ones right here. Portgas D. Ace, known as “Fire Fist” Ace, was a remarkable and unforgettable character from One Piece. He possessed a tall and muscular frame, complemented by his striking curly black hair.

The first episodes and the teaser impressed and intrigued many anime fans with adult characters and refreshing music. Simon is easily one of the most popular characters in Durarara — and he isn’t even a main character. Her design is one of my personal favorites on Bleach, especially with her golden (or amber) eyes, purple hair, and orange top. The elder brother of the second major character, Killua, Illumi is undoubtedly the most mysterious character in Hunter x Hunter. His true depths of power are still unknown, but we saw him multiple times using his power and acting strangely with Killua. One of the techniques he has is to change his appearance according to his will.

One of the best movie characters with black hair, The Little Tramp had become a universal character recognized in every culture across the world. Being an Indian boy, Mowgli has brown skin, thick black eyebrows, and wild messy black hair that covers his forehead and reaches his neck. He had been raised by wolves since infancy but had to leave the pack when the murderous tiger Shere Khan became determined to kill him. Much like Tarzan, Mowgli is unusually strong as a result of having to rely more on his physical strength all his life in the jungle. If all the characters so far felt too “human” to you, allow me to introduce you to Bayonetta – the supernatural representative on the list.

Levi undoubtedly makes the best character with black hair in anime history. The first one in the anime characters with black hair list is Goku. If this was the article on most powerful characters, we will probably put Goku top on the list. However, this list is not based on worst to best order, so we decided to put Goku in 10th position. It is extremely unlikely that you never heard the name Goku so you would also agree with me about how badass he is. At the ultra instinct Omen stage, He gains black hair with a whitish aura which makes him unstoppable.

Tiana’s black hair is more than a physical attribute; it’s a testament to her determination, making her one of Disney’s most inspiring characters. From the movie “Mulan”, Captain Li Shang is a figure of discipline and strength. His jet-black hair, always kept neatly tied back, represents his strict adherence to order and duty. It showcases his character as a disciplined military man, lending to his overall stern and serious demeanor. While Aladdin may be a “diamond in the rough”, his black hair has a certain magnetism that complements his daring spirit.

Luffy is friendly, funny, and loyal, but none of that takes away from the fact that he’s a formidable fighter with immense battle skills.

It is easy to dismiss Nezuko as the cute younger sister but she is much more than that. She is a strong and likeable character on her own and leaves an impression every time she appears on screen.

Itachi was a cherished character when he was the handsome psycho killer but the reveals about his past and his redemption have turned him into an anime legend. john house

The house was purchased for just under $1.9 million in May 2009, a month after he was hired. The Johnson House, built in 1768 by John Johnson for his son John Johnson Jr., stands as a testament to the resilience of a Quaker family who farmed the land and ran a thriving tannery business. Within these walls, stories of slavery’s injustices, wartime perils, religious freedom, activism, human rights, political intrigue, and ideological differences have unfolded and continue to be thoughtfully interpreted and preserved to educate and inform. Our journey spans centuries, from its origins as a manor house in the 1700s to a pivotal Underground Railroad station in the 1800s and now as a symbol of historic preservation and education in the 1900s to the present day.

House (TV series)

From London to Beverly Hills to France and beyond, Elton John houses are always extraordinary. Leavenworth, House still found the time to attain a second master’s degree in history from the University of Kansas, with his thesis published on the 1918 intervention in Siberia. After graduating from Auburn University’s ROTC program, House received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army’s field artillery on June 5, 1975. With Marilyn at his side, the family moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma in their ‘75 Dodge Colt.

White House Beefs Up Economic Team as Biden Vies for Second Term

There's also an extra living space above the garage with a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette. In "Brave Heart", House, who had recently moved in with Wilson overhears Wilson talking to his dead girlfriend Amber Volakis, this inspired House to try talking to his dad. That night, House said that he might have been focusing on the wrong parts of their relationship and maybe he was not such a bad father. His behavior around his father was clearly different from his behavior around everyone else. Gregory usually does everything he can to avoid being with his father, including skipping family events, and making up excuses to be elsewhere when his father is in the vicinity. House unwillingly attends John's funeral in "Birthmarks" and gives a short unflattering eulogy.

Character Played By

John also is an accomplished musician, playing guitar (mostly bass) and leading with his vocals. He calls himself a “clean up writer,” meaning he likes to help refine the lyrics once the song has been written. There’s no doubt Elton has a stellar personal paradise when he’s laying low in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. The building offers terraces with scenic views, fireplaces, a 24-hour concierge, a swimming pool, sauna, and wine lockers among their long list of amenities.

Gingrich had been a backbench rabble-rouser since coming to the House in 1978 and built up a cadre of supporters until he won the party's No. 2 power position as minority whip in 1989. He soon eclipsed the party's leader, Robert Michel, who was nearing retirement. Greene had vowed to press her challenge after Johnson announced a strategy to pass $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan earlier this month. About two-thirds of that money was for Ukraine, an issue Greene had called her "red line" for moving against the speaker.

“They were only home maybe a week (from NTC in California) when the unit was alerted to pack up and head out for the desert. In 1990, after Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, House deployed with the 24th Infantry Division from Ft. After graduating, the family again received orders to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for House to attend the Field Artillery Advanced Officer Course, along with a promotion to the rank of Captain. House then went on to graduate from Airborne School while still an MS-3 Cadet in the ROTC program at Auburn University, despite the fact that he was dreadfully afraid of heights. Just such a "motion to vacate the chair" was filed against Johnson in March by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.

The main residence was constructed in 2001 and features three stories of luxury living space. Some noteworthy areas include the 2-story grand foyer, a massive living room with a fireplace, a formal dining, and a chef’s kitchen with double islands. The list of the 10 speakers who served in the job longest includes just one Republican (and in the ninth slot at that). That speaker was Joseph G. Cannon of Illinois, notorious as the autocratic "Czar Cannon" during three two-year tours as speaker that ended with his party's historic defeat in 1910. Prior to the GOP's 40-year sentence as the minority party, several of its speakers had risen to the top rung largely on their personal popularity among their colleagues.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to force a vote next week on ousting House Speaker Mike Johnson

But Greene has yet to make the motion "privileged," which under the rules would necessitate a vote within two days. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson attends a news conference at the U.S. She has previously written for outlets including PIX11 News, The New York Daily News, Inside Edition and DNAinfo.

His sunny yellow home was built in the 1920s as an artist’s colony before he enlisted the expert help of Fred Dilger and Monique Gibson to transform the interior to suit his flamboyant style. He is committed to a vintage feel at Windsor, with beautiful 18th-century orangery at the end of the drive and a restriction on phones and television being used in the estate. The anything but humble Windsor castle has many rooms including a lavish library, a salon, and even a chapel.

When all of these diverse approaches are taken into account, he argues, Impressionism can be seen as a movement that challenged both artistic and political authority with its uncompromisingly modern subject matter and its determinedly secular worldview. No longer a world where an idealized doctor has all the answers or a hospital where gurneys race down the hallways, House's focus is on the pharmacological—and the intellectual demands of being a doctor. The trial-and-error of new medicine skillfully expands the show beyond the format of a classic procedural, and at the show's heart, a brilliant but flawed physician is doling out the prescriptions—a fitting symbol for modern medicine.

Two colleagues had spoken up to say they would join Greene in such a vote, giving her enough to defeat the speaker if all the chamber's Democrats voted to do the same. That's what the Democrats did when a motion to vacate the chair ousted the last Republican speaker, Kevin McCarthy, last fall. Mark Z. Barabak is a political columnist for the Los Angeles Times, focusing on California and the West. He has covered campaigns and elections in 49 of the 50 states, including a dozen presidential contests and scores of mayoral, legislative, gubernatorial and congressional races. He also reported from the White House and Capitol Hill during the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations. Details of her nasty divorce, including a restraining order against Boebert’s ex-husband, have been splattered across the media.

His personal experiences in the turbulent 60s and Vietnam give his novels, Rancor and Uncommon Bond (formerly published by Argus Publishing), much authenticity and realism. John House is the overarching antagonist in the 2004 FOX/Universal medical drama House, M.D. He is the abusive stepfather of Gregory House, the show's protagonist. Working hand in hand with residents, thought leaders, and advocates, CSA continues to expand its reach, addressing critical issues of racial and social injustice that confront our neighborhoods today. The home features a large kitchen, master bathroom, basement theater with a projector and an additional kitchenette.

It's implied that this meant that John rarely bent the truth in order to comfort his son, and usually found fault with what Gregory did despite his usually excellent academic accomplishments. It is clear Gregory feared his father's punishments, that those punishments were doled out for even minor offenses, and that they were far better suited to Marine recruits rather than a talented young boy. In the Episode One Day, One Room, House admits that his father abused him by making him sleep in the yard or take a bath in ice whenever he misbehaved.

Records show that the same year, an 18′ by 38′ pool was added along with an accompanying pool patio, pool house, and tennis court. The house has five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms and is more than 9,600 square feet. Due to his inability to lie to his mother about being unable to attend, he shows up at John's funeral and gives an unflattering eulogy during which he says that, were it not for John's negative influence, he would not be the person he is today. John makes an appearance in the episode "Daddy's Boy", in which he and Blythe visit House at the hospital he works at.

His flouting of hospital rules and procedures frequently leads him into conflict with his boss, hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). His only true friend is Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of the Department of Oncology. The house on Richmond Road sits on 1.2 acres just southeast of downtown Lexington. Calipari, who left UK last month to become the head coach at the University of Arkansas, purchased the house in May 2009 for $1.875 million.

I hope it will act as a center to inspire even higher levels of designs and spread them around the world. And of course, facilities will not be serving their purposes without the people who come and use them. I hope that more and more young people will visit here, experience design and inspire themselves so that they will contribute to raise the level of Japanese culture in the future. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is a venue to redirect our eyes to everyday things and events, and create various proposals and communicate numerous discoveries from the design point of view. Uniquely most of these exhibitions are directed by designers.Design is a way of making life fun and rich as well as expanding the potential of people's thoughts and actions.

The museum’s interior serves as a canvas for the art and design it houses, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between form and function. Ando’s meticulous spatial planning is evident in the seamless flow of the museum’s interior. The carefully curated exhibition spaces allow visitors to engage with design concepts in a dynamic and immersive manner. The architect’s thoughtful consideration of user experience is palpable as one navigates through the interconnected galleries.

Concrete, a durable and long-lasting material, aligns with the architect’s ethos of creating structures that stand the test of time. The museum’s facade not only tells a visual story but also underscores the importance of responsible material choices in contemporary architecture. Walking on, one is not sure whether to enjoy the exhibitions first or the design of the building. Outside light comes in through the large windowpanes and the inner courtyard on the basement floor, with the concrete spaces lit up by spotlights that are placed here and there to highlight the individual exhibition pieces. Most of the exhibitions and workshops here focus on the theme of “everyday life,” and explore the often underappreciated world of design that is hidden in plain sight. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is a visionary space that celebrates and explores the innovation of design.

The ground floor houses Gallery 3 and shop space, while the underground floor houses two galleries and a naturally lit sunken court. Highlighting Issey Miyake's concept in clothing design of "A Piece of Cloth," Ando devised the idea for the roof as one sheet of folded steel. The design museum was designed by architect Tadao Ando and fashion designer Issey Miyake.

The building is on the edge of the park area and has 1,700 square meters of floor space, including two galleries and an affiliated café run by chef and restaurateur Takamasa Uetake. Designed by architect Tadao Ando, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. Nestled amidst a serene, open public space, seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. The decision to submerge 80% of the building’s floor space underground was a deliberate choice to preserve the tranquility of the environment.

The integration of green spaces and thoughtful landscaping further emphasizes the connection between the built environment and nature. The experience of global pandemic has brought drastic and widespread changes to our life-style, communication methods and sense of community, as well as to people-values and general ways of thinking. Until now, design has been perceived mainly as product but we felt it necessary to the workings between things and events and communities with the world before moving on to the making process.

This intentional design choice fosters a sense of community engagement and invites people from all walks of life to partake in the world of design. In the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, amidst the modern skyline, stands the iconic Design Sight Museum, a testament to the brilliance of renowned architect Tadao Ando. This architectural marvel is more than just a museum; it’s a fusion of design, functionality, and innovation.

Design is not only about something that can be seen, but also helps build human-to-object or human-to-human relationships. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is the hub where the future of design as culture is discovered and created. 21_21 Design Sight is a museum in Roppongi in Minato, Tokyo, Japan, which opened in 2007. To truly appreciate the architectural marvel that is the Design Sight Museum, plan your visit today. Immerse yourself in the world of design, explore the curated exhibitions, and witness firsthand the transformative power of Tadao Ando’s visionary approach. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the choice of materials reflects Ando’s commitment to sustainability.

We use it to visualize perspectives on a future which is already present today, and which can be uncovered through our contemporary behavior and creativity. We have engaged a range of participants, from designers, artists and thinkers, to engineers and researchers, who provide their own perspectives on the future. These ideas have been generated from the act of pondering timelines, whether familiar or yet unknown.

"Material, or " is happy to acknowledge the generous collaboration of art anthropologist Toshiaki Ishikura and biomimetics designer Jun Kamei. Their role has been to deploy cultural-anthropological perspectives to tease out how humanity has manipulated nature. From this they identify how to revive our sensitivity towards raw materials using recent developments in technology and material science.

21_21 DESIGN SIGHT holds an exhibition "Material, or " opening on 14 July 2023. The exhibition director Satoshi Yoshiizumi is renowned for continuously presenting innovative designs from a unique perspective developed through self-initiated research projects. The name, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT refers to our wish to provide a place where people can look far into "the future". One hundred years from the opening of this exhibition will fall in the year 2121. Our concept is to ponder how the world will look in a year which is coincidentally also the name of this institute. ‘The Original’ doesn’t contain only products from the history of design, but also recent items created in the last two decades, equally well-known and treated as if they were always recognizable.

Furthermore, whereas its seamless steel roof and concrete walls could have made for a cold and overbearing interior, its trapezoidal spaces manage to be both futuristic and intimate. Despite seventy percent of the building being located below ground level, a large lightwell lets in natural light. The term "20/20 vision (or sight)" is used to describe perfect vision in English. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT was named with our intention that it would be a venue which offers vision beyond 20/20 to see what is ahead.

Can You Change Your House In Hogwarts Legacy?

What if absolutely none of that matters to you, though, and you just want to pick the House that offers the best overall experience? Well, for what it’s worth, I will say that Gryffindor and Hufflepuff probably have the most interesting unique quests (their common rooms are also fantastic). The Slytherin quest is also pretty fun, and the Ravenclaw quest is sadly not as memorable. That’s about as minor as such differences get, but the game really does seem to be more interested in ensuring a relatively equal experience for all. Ultimately, the gameplay really isn’t affected by the house you choose.

How to Get Sorted in the House Sorting Ceremony

While some enjoy the idea that they’re not missing out on anything substantial due to their choice of house, a few more unique additions would have been appreciated. In this guide, you will learn when and how to choose your house in Hogwarts Legacy, how your choice affects the gameplay, and what the differences between the houses are. The House Sorting Quiz is a joint activity between Warner Bros. and the Wizarding World site that allows you to take a quiz, connect two accounts and gain rewards.

You can either use the Sorting Hat in-game to do this or skip this process entirely by picking your house early. While it’ll take some time, you’ll gain some bonus rewards along the way, making it worthwhile to explore this option. Fans scoured the game looking for something more substantial, but those unique quests are the only notable piece of house-specific content you have to look forward to.

Ravenclaw

Experience a new wizarding-world adventure at Hogwarts and live the unwritten. If you are someone who values knowledge and loves learning new things, then Ravenclaw is the perfect house for you. You may have already thought of which house you want to be put in and do not need to worry as you can pick whichever one you like without consequences. If you do not like the choice that the Sorting Hat has given you, you will be prompted to select your house by choosing back. For the most part, though, your choice of House in Hogwarts Legacy won’t significantly alter the fundamental parts of the game beyond which common room you gain access to and the NPCs you encounter in those rooms.

Once you have chosen a house for your character in Hogwarts Legacy, you cannot change houses later. If you want to experience the game as a member of another house, you must create a new character. To make it easier for you to choose a house in Hogwarts Legacy, we have listed the differences between the houses here. To get a better impression of the houses in Hogwarts Legacy, you will also find the official video for each house, which introduces the common room. In the movies and books, Gryffindors were the main protagonists, but that’s not the case here.

That being said, there are some minor NPCs that are only available in your common room. Aside from a couple of unique dialog options, though, those NPCs do not have a significant impact on the game. There are also a few minor dialog differences in certain cutscenes based on your House choice, but most of those differences amount to which House name is said during certain cutscenes. For instance, if you’re in Ravenclaw and talking to a Ravenclaw NPC, they may acknowledge you share a house. If you’re in Gryffindor, that same NPC will likely have much more generic dialog. In the story, however, the house points will definitely play a role, according to game director Alan Tew in the first official gameplay showcase.

However, every character will be able to interact with every companion, and there don’t seem to be any notable special interactions that are limited to companions in the same House as you. Please note that if you have chosen to take the online quiz, you will not receive those Sorting Hat prompts. Instead, the online quiz will determine which House you are sorted into. If you have taken that quiz ahead of time (and linked your accounts appropriately), the game will instead ask if you’d like to explore the castle or get started with classes. Before you make your choice, you may want to look at the stunning Hogwarts Legacy common rooms you’ll be calling home.

It's a new and exciting adventure, with beautiful graphics, that anyone over the age of 12 will truly love. The Harry Potter books focus mainly on the tales of three Gryffindor students (Harry, Ron, and Hermione), thus it's quite the obvious choice for players who want to role play as the heroic protagonist in the game. What is a slightly bigger deal, though, are the unique quests available to each House.

How To Get Gryffindor

You can take this sorting quiz before the release of Hogwarts Legacy and transfer the result into the game. Joining Slytherin won't affect the story in any notable way (if you truly want to dabble in the Dark Arts, being sorted to this house isn't a prerequisite). However, you may have more chances to talk and get to know your fellow 5th year Slytherin students, including Ominis Gaunt, Imelda Reyes, and Sebastian Sallow.

Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, which were normally cast to the side when basilisks and Dementors ran amok, are just as center stage as the houses of Potter and Malfoy. You can even be a Slytherin, if you want to announce to the world that you are a walking red flag. First, the hat will ask you a question related to your personality.

Elevate your game

While a lot of this is down to a series of mods that send the player to Azkaban for using Avada Kadavra, there is actually an official in-game link between the prison and your house. The quest Prisoner of Love takes you (briefly) to Azkaban, but only appears if you are sorting into Hufflepuff. If you want to see Azkaban, therefore, this might help make your sorting decision. Lastly, when you start playing Hogwarts Legacy, you will either be prompted to sign into your WB Games Account or the game will automatically recognize it.

The main feature of this, though, is choosing your house and wand through these tests early rather than going through this process in-game. It’ll save you time later, allowing you to play through the main part of the story a little faster. This might seem like a strange question, but there have been murmurings about the relationship between the Hogwarts Legacy sorting hat and the legendary prison Azkaban.

Students also gain exclusive access to the Gryffindor Common Room (seen in the video above), which is located in the South Wing's Gryffindor Tower -- and guarded by a portrait of a fat lady. Now, we’re assuming you’re more than familiar with the four houses of Hogwarts, but here’s a quick refresher, just in case. We look back at the life and career of the longtime host of "Sunday Morning," and "one of the most enduring and most endearing" people in broadcasting. The most important decision any wizard child can make in the Harry Potter universe is which Hogwarts house they are going to join. Normally decided when they are in their first year at Hogwarts by the mind-reading Sorting Hat, this one choice is based on your personality and potential. Hogwarts Legacy, the immersive action RPG set in the universe of broomsticks and Snitches, allows you to pick between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw.

Next you will need to link your WB Games account to whichever platform you plan on playing the game, Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam. You'll also have more time to spend with Poppy Sweeting, who has an important companion questline to undertake with you. The standard edition includes the base game, while the deluxe edition includes bonus quests and cosmetic items based on a dark arts theme.

In the Harry Potter books and movies, house sorting is administered by the Sorting Hat. In Hogwarts Legacy, each player will belong to one of the Hogwarts houses. Answer the house test and the Sorting Hat will sort you into the best Hogwarts house for you.

For the most part, your choice of House will come down to your personal favorite common room/House style. You could base your choice on your personal roleplaying preferences, but those roleplaying elements are rarely represented in the gameplay. If you’ve always wanted to join a certain House, though, then this is your chance to do so. However, Hogwarts Legacy does let you manage multiple save slots (up to four, in fact), so you could always create a new character for each House. As noted above, though, you shouldn’t expect the game to be significantly different for each of those characters. It’s just there for absolute completionists or second (or third, or fourth) playthroughs.

CBS Essentials is created independently of the CBS News editorial staff. We may receive commissions from some links to products on this page. Hufflepuff is home to the most loyal and caring students in Hogwarts.

The game features an original story where players can create their own wizard or witch! You, as a player, will explore the magical world of Harry Potter and learn new spells, make powerful allies, and build your house’s legacy. For what it’s worth, though, your choice of House will play a minor role in your various character interactions. For instance, the game offers a few “companion” NPCs who you’ll interact with throughout the game. If you choose the same House as one of those companion characters, you will be able to interact with them in your shared common room.

Students who attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are sorted into one of the four houses at the start of their first school year. Students from the same house share a common room, dormitories and form a close-knit community. The Sorting Hat takes care of the sorting into the individual houses.

The game has been embroiled in controversy due to transphobic remarks from Harry Potter author JK Rowling. Although she is not personally involved with its development, she stands to profit from its success. For more, read our in-depth article on how Rowling's comments have impacted the trans community.

Tokyo Midtown was created to be the center of design culture in Japan, driven by facilities including 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, Suntory Museum of Art and Tokyo Midtown Design Hub. Nearby Tokyo Midtown is home to The National Art Center, Tokyo, Mori Art Museum, the design-themed complex AXIS, architecture specialist TOTO Gallery-MA and a number of design offices. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is itself enhenced by synergy with those facilities in the area. In design, no matter what a hard-fought process that designing may have been for the creator, the output should always embody love, dreams, and be a gift for those who receive it. Only when this happens does design turn into something captivating; something that can't be explained through mere words. A design museum is the link that connects the creator, the receiver, and the storyteller.

The venue stands out for its dynamic roster of exhibitions and diverse events, encompassing thought-provoking talk shows and interactive workshops. The architectural marvel of the building, distinguished by its expansive steel roof, is the brainchild of renowned architect Tadao Ando. Eschewing the conventional box-like design, Ando's signature curved silhouette cascades elegantly towards the ground, inspiring not a sense of confinement but of comfort. For those of us that hold a great interest in architecture and design, the Design Sight (read as “two-one two-one design sight”) behind Roppongi's Tokyo Midtown building is certainly worth a visit.

Ultimately, The Original may lose its position, as we forget it as the starting point. Nevertheless, The Original and the power of its originality has fundamentally enriched us,’ he said. Roppongi Hills is one of the largest real estate complexes in Japan, based in Roppongi, Minato-ku. The National Art Center (NACT) is a unique and innovative art exhibition facility in Roppongi, Tokyo. Tadao Ando, known for his minimalist approach and innovative use of concrete, has once again demonstrated his prowess with the Design Sight Museum.

A staircase leads to the ‘underground’ area, where travelling exhibitions are held. Set on the edge of Midtown Garden, which is located in the Tokyo Midtown complex, a large portion of the gallery space is underground. The idea for the roof as one sheet of folded steel was inspired by Issey Miyake's A-POC "A Piece of Cloth" concept. The Exhibition seeks to rediscover and reinterpret the human relationship to raw material. We provide an opportunity for visitors to rethink a world in which life is interwoven with raw material. This exhibition employs a tool called "Future Compass" to trigger ideas about the future.

How Much Does a Trip to Japan Cost?

The simple lines of the building’s steel-and-concrete roof are typically Japanese in their emphasis on modesty. Temporary exhibitions typically focus on the role design plays in daily life and how we interact with it. The museum is near the Tokyo Midtown complex in Roppongi, a short walk from Nogizaka Station. When we think about the material presence of an object we use, we probably do consider how the human assigned meaning to the medium. Otherwise put, when we look at a created artifact, we might well ponder the stuff from which it is made.

For those of us that hold a great interest in architecture and design, the Design Sight behind Roppongi’s Tokyo Midtown .. Japan Travel is the leading resource for Japan travel information and the primary destination for visitors planning and traveling to Japan. Within Tokyo Midtown's 68,900m2 expanse, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is situated in Midtown Garden, the green area leading to Hinokicho Park, Minato-ku.

We hope that this exhibition will help guide all of our visitors to find their entrance into this world of design. Located in the beautiful Midtown Garden, a gateway to Hinokicho Park in Minato-ku, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT enjoys a prime position where visitors to the garden are seamlessly drawn to the site. It's important to note that operating hours, days of closure, and ticket prices for Gallery 1&2 and Gallery 3 may vary based on the specific programs running.

Our aim was to design a structure asserting itself as a design museum without disturbing the ambience of the natural environment surrounding it. In order to achieve this, we decided to place 80% of the floor space of the museum underground. Indeed, it required highly advanced techniques to process the 54 meter-long plate of steel used as the roof. This project would not have succeeded without the skills and techniques offered by all the craftsmen involved in its construction. People on the site bravely tackled the difficulties inherent in accommodating the requirements of the design without any compromise.

Let’s delve into the intricate details of this exceptional structure that has left an indelible mark on the world of architecture. The museum is discretely positioned in the left back corner of the garden behind the Midtown building. The building structures of the museum and of the next door located Canoviano Café look identical with their eye-catching triangular roofs made of giant steel plates. ‘We live surrounded by a diversity of designs, but we ask how many of them deserve the title of The Original. This exhibition calls attention to products created with genuine verve, fundamental charm, purity, boldness, and strength, each of which we call The Original,’ explained Takahiro Tsuchida.

This area serves as a cultural hotspot, boasting a plethora of attractions beyond the institution. Visitors can explore the Roppongi Hills, a skyscraper complex that combines shops, restaurants, cafes, movie theatres, and the Mori Art Museum, renowned for its contemporary art exhibitions. The National Art Center, Tokyo, another architectural marvel, is nearby, offering an ever-changing lineup of exhibitions. The pieces are accompanied by a graphic display with a large layout of 50 photographs of products. Taken by the photographer Gottingham, the large images lie on the walls behind the products, so visitors can witness details that are difficult to catch with the naked eye.

It is read as "two-one two-one design sight."21_21 DESIGN SIGHT has its own symbol, a plaque called "The Product Logo," made of a sheet of metal. The plate, inspired by a style of address display panel seen anywhere in Japan, indicates this facility as being a "place" of design. This also represents something that we see all the time but never pay attention to. It fits our concept that design should give life to the potential hidden within our daily lives. The distance between the numbers 21 and 21 is meant to be the space between human eyes, which describes this place as the "viewpoint" of design, i.e. Design Sight, and how important it is to observe things with a mind free of distractions. Our aim is to promote understanding and interest in design by involving designers, company people, engineers, craftsmen, and the general public.

A car show that saves lives, Cruisin' for a Cure rolls into O C. fairgrounds Saturday Los Angeles Times

Cruisin’ for a Cure was started in 1999 by Debbie Baker whose husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer and lost his life in 2009 from this illness. It became and continues to be Debbie’s passion to do something for our men by bringing awareness of prostate cancer to help save their lives through the offering of free prostate screening at the event. Over the past 20+ years we have tested well over 15,000 men and saved more than 4,000+ men who would have never known they had a suspicious lump or prostate cancer. As Debbie tells the men, “you take care of your cars, you need to take care of your body.

This simple pill organizer keeps all your medications, vitamins, and supplements in one light, packable container. I love that there are eight compartments and that each open and snap closed. Getting to the terminal is the most difficult part of going on a cruise.

Baker created Cruisin’ for a Cure, not only as a way to raise money for the KSK Cancer Center of Irvine but to entice men of a certain age to get a quick and easy blood test that could save their lives. Men might be encouraged to take the test when they see the special blue shirts worn by survivors who have beaten prostate cancer. “We want to enter the Chinese market mainly because of the war in Ukraine. But beyond all that, the show will also provide free prostate cancer screenings for men over 40. So now the town has to ship in – literally – new customers.

Whether you’ve paid for a drink package or plan to sip on included beverages, a reusable water bottle is always handy. The Corkcicle bottle is insulated, has a fun floral design from Rifle Paper Co., and can keep drinks cold for up to 25 hours, according to the company. Among them is Carson Lev, a car enthusiast who used to work for Hot Wheels and started coming to Cruisin’ for a Cure in its early days to set up racing tracks for kids at the show. That’s a claim that can be rightfully made by organizers of annual Cruisin’ for a Cure, which will attract car buffs to the Orange County fairgrounds this Saturday, as thousands of vintage vehicles are put on dazzling display. While the older classics are definitely a big draw, it also bears mentioning that modern day muscle cars, hotrods, and modified cars will also be welcomed. These can and will include everything from the latest generation C8 Corvette to the present day versions of the Camaro, Charger, Challenger, and the like. For the modified cars, it is pretty much anything and everything goes, such as the Chrysler 300 below transformed from a luxury sedan into a performance muscle car.

The testing is free and involves a simple blood test to detect PSA (prostate specific antigen) levels. "We have tested well over 15,000 men, and saved over 6,000 men that had no idea that they had prostate cancer," said Debbie Baker, who co-founded the show back in 1999. However, the business was hit so hard during the pandemic that last year, Liang pivoted and turned it into a wine shop, where people can buy bottles to take home or to gatherings. Costa Mesa resident Beverly Morgan, for example, comes each year to show off the 1965 Mustang her father, Bill Morgan, lovingly restored for her as a gift in 1984. The show gives her an opportunity to talk more about her “Pops,” who died of prostate cancer in 2011. Over more than two decades, Cruisin’ for a Cure has drawn together not only car lovers of all kinds but also those who have a close and personal connection to prostate cancer.

Florida Georgia Line Cruise Remix Lyrics

cruise florida georgia line nelly

One of Wallen’s biggest early breaks, 2017’s “Up Down” — his first Country Airplay chart-topper — included a guest spot for FGL. “The very first time we worked in the studio together, it was partially about breaking them of the mentality that going in to record the song doesn’t mean it’s done,” says Moi. “Let’s dig back into these lyrics and make this better.” So they tinkered, “tightening the screws” on the lyrics, as Kelley describes it, for a few hours — distilling the song’s core idea into a pop monolith. “Cruise” is a thoughtful and upbeat track comparing a girl to Tennessee country-rock band, Florida Georgia Line’s favorite pastimes.

“Cruise” would eventually take the top spot on the Hot Country Songs chart from Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” another take on Millennial-friendly country-pop crossover. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the week of August 11, 2012.[22] On the chart dated December 15, 2012, it reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart in only its 19th week, achieving the fastest climb to the top of the chart for a debut single since Heartland's "I Loved Her First" in October 2006.

Cruise Lyrics

When "When I Think of You" hit #1, Janet and Michael Jackson became the first siblings with chart topping solo hits in the United States. On January 6, 2014, Billboard announced “Cruise” as the #1 Top Selling Country Digital Song of All Time as recorded by Nielson SoundScan. Jesse Rice, Chase Rice and Kelley — Hubbard was called away for some long-forgotten work obligation — had gotten together to write at Jesse’s house. They were working on a ballad called “When God Runs Out of Rain,” and felt pretty good about it — good enough to take a lunch break. As they sat back down to finish the song after lunch, Kelley started strumming the chords G-D-Em-C – a progression that Jesse had used as the backbone to a rap medley during long cover gigs.

‘GREAT F–KIN’ IDEA!’: How Florida Georgia Line & Nelly’s ‘Cruise’ Teamup Made (Controversial) History

But then again, you don't want any jolts or unexpected moments. 'Cruise' is a fast, fun song that invites plenty of dancing along and a little acceleration when it comes to the gas pedal. They credit Moi with the idea of dropping the verb. “He kept saying, ‘Something just doesn’t feel right — the syllable just needs to hit on this beat,'” Kelley recalls. “At first you’re kind of married to [the original], but eventually it was like, ‘Oh, that is better.'” That decision made the hook both a lot smoother, and a lot closer to African American Vernacular English.

Kevin Abstract, Lil Nas X Premiere New Song ‘Tennessee’ at Coachella

The song-about-a-song is a straightforward-sounding, meticulously-constructed earworm that hinges on the most appealing and specific version of the now-ubiquitous masculine country checklist (lusty descriptions of women, backroads, trucks). It turned out to be something of a “generational gauntlet,” as critic Jody Rosen puts it — particularly in the form of its blockbuster Nelly-featuring remix, released 10 years ago this week. Its massive success colored much of what came after its 24 record-breaking weeks atop the Hot Country Songs chart, whether that was songs trying to imitate it or the tidal wave of critical backlash. When the song reached its tenth week atop Hot Country Songs on May 18, 2013, it became the second song (Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together") to spend that many weeks at No. 1 since Buck Owens's "Love's Gonna Live Here" (16 weeks between October 1963 and February 1964).

The track was first released as the opening track for their EP It'z Just What We Do, but was also added, along with the rest of the EP, to their debut studio album for Republic Nashville, titled Here’s to the Good Times, also as the opening track. A smiling country song with veneers, it combined the rabid, over-the-top party spirit of the EDM era with an enviably carefree, breezy backroads affect. Nelly’s verse, in which he rehashes the chorus with characteristic panache, is the cherry on top — the ultimate nostalgic, full-circle moment for an artist whose professional debut centered on touting his country bona fides.

The remix peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100, with the song spending 54 weeks total on the chart; it reached the top 10 on the Adult and Mainstream Top 40 charts as well, cementing its crossover appeal. Overall, the song is platinum 14 times over — diamond and then some — as of last October. All Billboard chart metrics and RIAA certifications combine the numbers for the original version with the remix, so it’s hard to know which record ultimately proved to be the most popular. But there’s no question that it was the remix that sparked “Cruise” to ubiquity — to the impossible-to-ignore success that made the song the line between one era of country music and another.

On August 24, 2013, it logged its 24th week at No. 1, the longest run at No. 1 in the chart's 69-year history (the previous record was 21 weeks held jointly by three songs, the last of which was Webb Pierce's "In the Jailhouse Now" from February to June 1955). It certainly makes sense that hip-hop influences felt as intuitive for FGL-generation country artists as for any others who have come of age since hip-hop became mainstream pop. Watching Nelly perform alongside the duo, though, is a stark reminder of how in that exchange of ideas, the money tends to only flow one way; that while it might feel like hip-hop is “in [FGL’s] DNA,” it’s not. The intervening years have brought more efforts by both FGL and Nelly (among a number of other well-intentioned and like-minded artists) to correct that inequity. But “Baby you a song” isn’t just like Country Grammar — it is country grammar, a grammar that is as influential in country music today as ever. The recording by Florida Georgia Line reached No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 on its initial release, but dropped off the Hot 100 in February 2013.

He didn’t become that guy, signing FGL to Republic Nashville (a joint venture between Big Machine and Republic Records) in July 2012. Though there were some conversations inside the label about whether the satellite success of “Cruise” would translate over the terrestrial airwaves, and even whether they should send “Tip It Back” — a slightly more familiar-sounding song off the duo’s second EP — to radio first. Instead, they decided to move ahead with “Cruise,” and it made its way up the country charts.

The song was also a great chance for the members of FGL (Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley) to meet up with one of their favorite artists, who happened to be on their label. "I've been a huge fan of Nelly since middle school," said Hubbard. In the meantime, Moi has found a new vehicle for rewriting country chart history with the same seemingly supernatural sensitivity to what listeners want in Morgan Wallen, whose music does bear shared DNA with what Rosen calls FGL’s “unselfconscious” genre-bending.

A caravan of fast cars, having their way with dusty, deserted roads? A bevy of chicks, each one more beautiful than the next? FGL's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard making goofy faces while dancing to their infectious song? Nelly dropping verses and getting frisky with a sexy female cop who pulls his ride over? If you're looking for surprises, well, you'll have to go elsewhere -- you won't find any here.

It was, indeed, a turning point, on a scale even larger than Rosen had foreseen. “Cruise” emerged at the dawn of the streaming age, when genreless consumption — already a dominant mode — was on the cusp of taking over. The unbothered blending of country, rock and hip-hop influences that became Florida Georgia Line’s specialty would reshape country’s commercial sound completely, to the chagrin of both traditionalists and outsiders — and expand its reach exponentially. The song is a mid-tempo in the key of B-flat major with a main chord pattern of B♭-F-Gm7-E♭.[14] It is about an attractive woman that the male narrator wants to cruise with in his pick-up truck. The country sensations paired up with the rap/R&B star to create one of summer's most unlikely hits, "Cruise," and had no problem working up a little sweat on what's a holiday for most of the rest of the country on Monday.

The Nicolette Larson hit "Lotta Love" was written by Neil Young, who recorded a very different version of the song. "Irreplaceable" wasn't specifically penned for Beyonce - in fact, Ne-Yo wrote it more as a country song and had Faith Hill and Shania Twain in mind. The 'Cruise' remix video takes us from daylight dirt racing to dancing at night with the ladies. It celebrates the pursuit of a good time and how getting their fast is mission critical, so you can further enjoy the festivities. Pretty much whatever you think will happen in this video ...
